We were made to understand that Opah & Arwah Atok (which we have never got an opportunity to meet him) originally came from Teluk Anson; that Atok at that time was serving the government as a policeman has to be relocated to a small town named Sungkai.
In that small town of Sungkai, Opah gave birth to her daughters and sons.
And in that small town of Sungkai, Atok was shot to death during a communist attack, somewhere in 1950. Atok was in the police station at that time. The death of Atok has made Opah as a 'Balu'...at the very young age of 26. Rumours saying among the villagers of Kg Rahmat Changkat Sulaiman, that Opah has somehow made a promise to herself that she'll never marry another man (again) - as a sign of loyalty to her beloved 'killed-by-a-communist-husband'.
Ayah; the 4th of the 5, has only spent 2 years with Atok. Ayah has never get a chance to remember his own father's face; until the discovery of Atok's photo years back.
Sungkai.
p/s: Macam haramjadah je English aku kali ni.
